Eat Green, Wear Green as part of Eat Healthy RI Day on Wednesday, 3/9/16

This is a day dedicated to encouraging our kids to learn about healthy eating! Students and faculty will be encouraged to dress in green. Parent volunteers are needed to kick off the day with a book reading in each classroom. Upper grades may have a facilitated discussion about healthy eating habits. HBS will supply the book (unless there is one you like and you are welcome to bring it in). All you have to do is come in and read! If anyone is interested, please contact Andrea Wool at andrea.wool@gmail.com or Ann Durham at annpolak@gmail.com. Each class will discuss the cultural significance of vegetables and how populations in different countries prefer different vegetables. This will tie into the countries that each class/grade is studying and that they will be representing at the Walk-A-Thon (on Thursday, 5/12). Whole Foods Market will be donating green vegetables again this year for all students to sample. On 3/23 there will be an evening presentation by HBS mom and nutritionist, Andrea Wool, to promote healthy eating for your children (more details will follow).
